Summer Rising is back!

We're excited to once again be partnering with the Department for Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to offer Summer Rising for all New York City Students in kindergarten through grade 8 this year! Summer Rising is a free program that connects students with fun, hands-on experiences that strengthen their academic, social, and emotional skills. Applications for 2025 programs are open now through Friday, March 28!

Students in Summer Rising will have access to both academic and enrichment programming over the course of the day, including field trips, arts activities, and outdoor recreation. Free breakfast, lunch, and snacks will also be served. In a typical week at Summer Rising, academics will be provided by licensed teachers in the morning, and enrichment activities are led by community-based organizations (CBOs) in the afternoons and on Fridays.

Summer Rising is a safe and supportive environment for all students, and staff are prepared to respond to children's individual needs. Students with disabilities who may require additional supports to participate in programming, such as a paraprofessional, will receive those supports as needed. Furthermore, multilingual and English language learners (MLs/ELLs) will receive instruction targeting language and literacy development to support them with grade-level content, in addition to engaging in culturally responsive and student-centered activities throughout the day.

You can learn more about Summer Rising programming at schools.nyc.gov/SummerRising.
